Star Quilt Vocabulary


	Eleven Row Star: The star has 11 rows, or rings, of diamonds. Available in all sizes of quilts.

	Seven Row Star: The star has 7 rows, or rings, of diamonds. Available in all sizes of quilts.

	Fancy Star: The star has designs, pictures, or appliques in it. SOME of these stars are available only in queen size.

	Fancy Border star quilt: The outside border area has fancy designs. These borders are available only in queen size quilts.

	Plain Border star quilt: There are one or more simple bands of color around the star. Available in all sizes of quilts. See examples of Plain Borders HERE. (you won't lose this page.) You can also click on the photo at left to see the main page of Plain Border star quilts.

	Finishing your star quilt: There are four different quilting methods available: European hand quilting, Indian hand quilting (shown at left), machine quilting, and old fashioned hand tying.
